The South African Neurodevelopmental Therapy Association (SANDTA) is a voluntary association of therapists who have a special interest in Neurodevelopmental Therapy (Bobath/NDT). SANDTA offers training in the Bobath /NDT concept for allied health professionals which includes post-graduate courses and workshops which are all accredited as CPD activities.

The Bobath/NDT concept continues to evolve based on the evidence emerging through new theories, models, research and information in the movement science. The individual’s abilities and impairments are identified and addressed in relation to participation in functional activities. The Bobath/NDT concept offers a hands-on, problem-solving approach with interventions involving handling and guidance of movement to optimise function.
A Bobath/NDT certified therapist works in collaboration with clients, families, caregivers and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive individualised treatment programmes based on the concept and directed towards specific agreed goals.
