Faizah Toefy qualified as a speech and language therapist from University of Cape Town in 1991. She has worked in the field of paediatric neurodevelopment since 1992 and has a special interest in feeding, alternative and augmentative communication, and early intervention.
She currently works as Speech Therapist in private practice in Cape Town and for an NPO where the focus is on providing inter-disciplinary therapy to babies during the first 1 000 days of life. Her work experience includes working at schools and special care centres for children with cerebral palsy, within the health sector, clinical supervision at university level as well as working for various NPO’s.
Faizah completed her first NDT course in 1997. She started her tutor training in 2018. She has presented on various Intro Courses and modules on the Basic Course since then.
Faizah has completed various advanced courses including the Advanced Baby Course and Advanced Speech Therapy Course.
In addition to this Faizah attends various presentations and workshops to keep abreast of developments in the field of early intervention, paediatric feeding and augmentative and alternative communication.
